II Corinthians 4:5-7

"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."

"And unto Adam He said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life." Genesis 3:17

What is "human nature"? I suppose that various members of the intelligentsia might agree in substance but word the answer variously. It is that which people are wont to manifest under given circumstances, and under the entire range of human experience: it is how we react to all of these circumstances and impinging conditions.

From whence does this arise? It comes from within and mostly through that which we label human emotions: that which is most commonly expressed by so many in these words: "I feel...."

This "feeling" is a phase of human emotions, guided more or less (usually from little to zero) by the throne of reason.

What energizes and channels the emotions? The human soul which God has depicted for us by Eve, whom God brought forth and gave unto Adam to be his helpmate. Yet Adam was commanded to rule over her and she to be but his companion and helper. Adam symbolizes the indwelling spirit (which came from God), and expresses itself through the faculty known as reason. Adam was made responsible by God: it was he who had to answer unto the Father.
