II Corinthians 4:5-7

"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."

"Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in." Psalms 24:7

"And He commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, He blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to His disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children." Matthew 14:19-21

"I must work the works of Him that sent Me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the Light of the world." John 9:4-5

Greetings, friends, and may this day be one of the most blessed of your entire life! In fact it really could be – so why not make it that? Some of you might probably like to reply, "How could I make my day the most blessed one of my life?" It is a simple matter: just open the door of your mind to the light and the power of Jesus Christ, Who accomplished on Calvary an absolutely completed work for you, for me, and for whomsoever has received Him.

In the New Testament you find four books captioned "The Gospel" according to Saints Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. And all of us Christians have forever heard about the "Gospel" of Jesus Christ, but to the average person that word means nothing, or less than nothing. It is just a story, or the account of one Man's life – the account of the life of the One Who claimed to be the Son of God. But I take great joy in telling you that the word we find in the Greek originals is Euaggelion – what a blessed word for man! It simply means "happy tidings," or "wonderful news of marvelously good things." That is what I have for you – wonderful news of marvelously good things!

I have no story to tell you about the life of one Jesus of Nazareth, but rather want to set before you the startling fact that since He cried out from the Cross on Calvary, "It is finished," that meant that the work of our absolute redemption had been completed in totality! Or do you believe that God wrought a patch on an old garment? Or but a crutch to help cripples along the way? Or but a hope-so "salvation" for man's "soul" in the mists of an unknown world and a future tomorrow, while at the moment we keep our fingers crossed? No, beloved, the work of Christ our Lord was a completed work wrought out through the power of God Almighty for human beings here and now. And that has been my great joy for many years, to keep setting before the people that we need not wait until we are dead, hoping that the mercies of God may enfold our souls thereafter, but rather that Christ was a Man in the present world, Who wrought for this moment, and opened up a spiritual kingdom for human beings here and now!

There are two reasons why Christendom has struggled and suffered, and gotten so little good out of the glorious work of redemption wrought for us by the Christ of God; and that is that man has accepted the false teachings of Lucifer, which Christ predicted, and which He named the "tare-seed" that He said would develop during this "night" of spiritual darkness; and that man would eat of this counterfeit, poisonous wheat until he became so sick that he would finally suicide. And that is the destiny that stares Christendom in the very face. Now the hour is nearer to hand than most people dare to believe.

Last time I spoke to you about Christ's miracle in feeding the 5,000 with five loaves and two small fish, and how that was accomplished in a desert place. This was God's way of telling us that no matter how little we might have at hand, and how great the need might appear to be, and regardless of how hopeless the situation (as typified by the desert place), all that we have to do is to come into the spirit of the one and the five; even into the spirit of the First Commandment, and into the grace (5) of God through Christ our Lord. If then we understood and possessed the Keys to the Kingdom, we could use those Keys, and our every need would be supplied – and that to our overwhelming joy! ...Not merely supplied, but with much left over! And may I remind you that our booklets on the "Keys" to the Kingdom have been prepared in printed form and are available free for the asking unto whomsoever.

Now we are going to look further at this marvelous miracle of feeding 5,000 by two fish and five loaves of bread, which I showed you last time became a prophecy covering the breaking of the bread among the spiritually famished multitudes throughout a period of 1,916 years before the twelve baskets would be gathered together. I showed you how that figured out exactly to the summer of 1948, when the twelve tribes of Israel, represented by those twelve baskets of fragments, were gathered together in Palestine, and declared themselves a reborn nation in the land of their fathers.

That was the main prophecy, but there remains an immense amount of detail, which was also prophetic and is for our good and edification to study. As for instance, let us look at those two fish and the five loaves of barley bread. Jesus did not set up an earthly kingdom in His day, neither did His disciples or anyone since ever attempt to set up a nation of Jesus' followers. But what was commenced and which has been set up and come down through the centuries, is what we call the organized Church of Christ. Today there are countless churches and sects and denominations almost without number, but when we study these very carefully, we find that they reduce to seven parent bodies. Among these seven parent bodies, or forms of church government, of our organized orthodox churches, we find everything that is contained in any one of the hundreds of others, all of which are offshoots of one or several of the seven parent bodies.

Now, look to the two fish and the five loaves of barley bread. Has it ever occurred to you that the Christian era opened among the Gentiles with the eastern and western section of the Catholic church, which always has taught the practice of eating fish on one day of the week, as well as throughout the longer season called Lent? Then came the division between the eastern and the western, so that now we have those two separate churches, both teaching the practice of abstaining from meat, but eating fish at prescribed periods. And has it ever occurred to you that the five other parent bodies, which are Protestant churches, do not teach anything in particular as concerning the eating of fish, but have confined themselves exclusively to the preaching of the Word – that is, the Bread of Life? You see, beloved, these are the little ways in which the Word of God proves itself, and also proves that Jesus of Nazareth was the Messiah of God, just so soon as we open our minds to the glorious light of Christ.

We have seen how His feeding the multitude of 5,000 men, besides women and children, constituted a prophecy of the exact period of time measuring into the summer of 1948, when the twelve tribes of Israel had gathered in Palestine and declared themselves a reborn nation. Then as we read further, we find that as soon as the multitude had been fed, the Lord constrained His disciples to get into a ship and cross over unto the other side, while He dispersed the multitude. Having sent away the multitude, He went into a mountain by Himself in order to pray. In verse 23 of Matthew 14, you will find these words, "...and when the evening was come, He was there alone." Those words show us that there had been at least a short elapse of time between His sending away the multitude until He had gotten into the mountain and prayed for some time, until evening was fully come.

In verses 24 and 25 we see that "...the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with the waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea."

We are told here where the disciples made little progress in their strenuous efforts to get to the other side, because the wind was contrary. And that, my dear friend, is what every Christian worker has found during these last decades – that the winds are contrary. This is the age of the automobile, of radio and TV. This is the age of every modern form of entertainment, with its glaring lights and massive propaganda, reaching out to the masses to attract and hold their attention. And so, every priest and minister, every "gospel" worker and layman who strives to bring Christ to the masses, has found a deafer and a deafer ear, until now it seems almost impossible to make any true progress. The world is reaping its harvest. Lucifer is at the helm and his net is filling, but suddenly shall the devout followers of Christ our Lord behold Him, as He comes to them upon the waters of the world's raging sea! And now as then, so soon as He comes into the boat, we shall find ourselves on the other shore.

My dearly beloved: HOW is it possible to view these fantastic prophecies wrought in living drama by the Christ of God, and still not BELIEVE with every nerve and fiber and molecule of your entire being? May I add to you a personal word? I have had the joyous privilege of setting forth, not one or two or three of these prophetic dramas and sayings, but, during the last fifteen years, hundreds along the same line. I dare not say that "I believe" – because I KNOW the Lord Whom I serve as the very Christ of God, and my SOON-coming King.

And my still greater joy is my privilege to make available, FREE of charge unto every one who hears my voice, the booklets dealing with KEYS to the Kingdom of Christ for the HERE and for our NOW! The KEYS to the Kingdom of Jesus Christ for your HERE and for your NOW are available in printed form, to get you properly started on that wondrous JOYROAD to success and happiness here and now, and into the very life of the doubly, yes, of the trebly BLESSED. And my confidence is great that you will ever BLESS the day you did.
