II Corinthians 4:5-7
"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."

"So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed." Exodus 17:10-11
Why did Moses with the two, go up a hill? Israel's encampment was on level area, even as was Amalek and his army. There was no valid reason whatever, except for the symbolism to show that the CHRIST-nature, in supplanting human nature, is not achieved over the weekend while you go fishing. But rather, a determined EFFORT is required! Finally, WHY did this drama take place while on their way to the Mount of God instead of after the Law was received?
...two reasons. First, it was to encourage us to commence THOUGHT-CONTROL early in our Christian life, even though no overcoming is achieved. Secondly, it showed that such an achievement is a PRELIMINARY requirement in order that Christ enshrined may have absolute CONTROL of one's life.
