"O God, thou art my God; early will I seek Thee...." Psalm 63:1

The child properly trained will say "Good morning" to the parents. As a young entrant into the spiritual Kingdom of Jesus Christ, you should say that much. It is well to do so in opening your devotional time-tithe. That time-tithe can be split up into two approximately equal periods - morning and evening, although it is preferable to spend the full time in the morning: the day lies before you, strength and guidance is needed for it. Be attentive to your investment in your future success and happiness.

Might not a real youngster walking along with the parent on a slippery, dark, and treacherous road say to the parent: Please hold my hand? And the parent happily complies. YOU are also a real spirit-youngster. Life's path before you today is dark, slippery, and very treacherous. First thing in the morning, ask your Daddy to hold your hand.

Perhaps you do not understand it, but an all-sufficient price was paid for you on Calvary a great many years back. It was paid in LIFE and sealed by His Blood. When you are saying, "Good Morning, Daddy," also add the substance of these words: "by virtue of the complete atonement price paid for me on Calvary, I am now guiltless and FREE. Therefore I ask that this day Your Spirit guide me fully, and shield me in an absolute totality from all evil and harm."

All devotions should be in the spirit of Christ. But the beginner may fall far short of this. So, at least you can say "in the Name of Jesus Christ." There may not be much "magic" to it, but at least it helps to inculcate the proper spirit. In time the power of His Spirit will come upon you.
