II Corinthians 4:5-7
"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."

"David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years. In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah." II Samuel 5:4-5
Good Morning, friends; and may your day be a very blessed one!
Today I wish to remind you that the Bible of the Christians is much more than merely a storybook; it is also more than a Book of precepts, and injunctions unto love and righteousness; it is even a Book of prophecy from its opening unto its close. Not merely prophecy which is recognized as such, as the prophecies of Isaiah, Jeremiah, and the other Prophets, but because our Bible is the work of God: that is, His Spirit is behind it, and all the things which the Bible has recorded as episodes in the life of the Israel people have been so directed by God as to constitute a prophetic drama for eras and peoples which were still to come.
As for instance, the history of the Jews recounts how they had three great kings to reign over them from the commencement. The first was King Saul. He was great for the simple reason that he was Israel's first king, and that contrary to the injunctions laid down through Moses and Samuel (Deut. 17:14-20; I Sam. 8:5-9,18-22, 12:17-19). He was succeeded by Israel's great warrior-king whom we know as David, while one of his sons, known as Solomon, became Israel's third king, and their greatest king that ever lived.
No doubt all of you have heard about those three kings – Saul, David, and Solomon – a 100 times and more already. But did you ever hear that their lives, or their reigns, were prophetic of things to come? That is a part and parcel of the ministry of The Voice of Tomorrow: to show you how all things of today were clearly forecast through word and prophetic drama thousands of years ago!
Listen carefully, that you may come to understanding: the reign of King Saul portrayed the Dispensation of Law. At the time of his death, David became king, and his reign was a prophetic portrayal of the Christian Dispensation. David was followed by his son Solomon, whose life and reign became prophetic of the new era soon to take over. In the Book of Revelation it is referred to as 1,000 years of peace, when the Devil will be sealed up in the Pit (Rev. 20:1-3).
Since I plan to concentrate on the Christian Dispensation in which we live, I will in passing only make a key statement in connection with the 1,000 years of peace, often referred to as "the Millennium." No doubt you have read about the 1,000 wives which King Solomon had; that is, 700 wives, and 300 concubines (I Ki. 11:3). The 1,000 wives tell us about the 1,000 years of peace, but the fact that only 700 of them were given the honor of being reckoned as the wives of King Solomon, predicts that only the first 700 years of the Millennial Era will be true to the spirit of peace, which is also the Spirit of Christ. While, during the last 300 years of that Millennial Era, prophetically depicted by the 300 concubines, conditions of widespread entertainment and loose morals will again intrude. That relaxation of strictness, and the reemergence of an ever-loosening moral code, will, by the end of 300 years, lead to, and make possible, the conditions forecast in the Revelation prophecies, where it is said that the Devil will again be loosed from out of the Pit to go forth to deceive the nations, when he will again gather the armies of Gog and Magog to make war upon all those nations which recognize Jerusalem as their head of government at that time (Rev. 20:7-9).
That is as far as we will go in our glimpse at King Solomon in relationship to the Millennial Era. We will now concentrate on the Christian Dispensation, and particularly the days in which we live, and those days which are immediately ahead of us.
As we look at the reign of King David, we first find that he was crowned 3 times (I Chron. 20:1-2; II Sam. 2:4, 5:3); similarly with the Christian era. First it was under Rome, as the sole mistress of what we like to think of as the civilized world. Then came Christian Rome, or what we might term the papacy, eventually to be followed by the third, which is the present or the independent nations of Christendom.
According to the Bible chronology, King David reigned in Hebron 7 years and 6 months. That word means `an association.' I suggest you have a paper and pencil convenient, because shortly I will give you some numbers. In the Bible, numbers reduce to prophecy. According to the details given us in the Second Book of Samuel, David reigned in Hebron 7 years and 6 months, then thereafter, 33 years in Jerusalem (II Sam. 5:5). We should scarcely consider it likely that his reigns in Hebron and Jerusalem, as given, were precisely to the day, but only as very close. So adding the 72 years to the 33 nets us 402 years as the length of his total reign. Now, if you will write down 72 over 402 (as a fraction), you will find in its breakdown that it reduces to 5 over 27. Thus, his reign in Hebron, in relationship to his entire reign, becomes as 5 over 27. Hebron, I told you means `an association' or `an alliance.' And that was the history of the Christian era until 364 A.D., when the Roman Empire broke up into the eastern and the western sections. So to get the prophetic measure for our Christian era, we simply take the 364 and multiply it by 27 over 5, which nets us 1965.6 years.
That would measure into 1966 A.D., according to our calendars. But because it is doubtful that the reigns of David in Hebron and Jerusalem have been given to us right to the precise day, it would be folly for us to consider the resultant number as a precision measure. But we should consider it as an approximate measure, which is likely to be within an odd few years. This would indicate that we are nearing the close of our Christian dispensation. Based on numerous other prophetic measures given us in the Bible, I am personally prone to add an odd few years to that number of 1965.6 already given you. That shows that the time is almost upon us when Christ will take the first basic step in our days to institute "the kingdom of the heavens" upon earth. But we should also bear in mind that Jesus did not go forth into His Spirit-powered ministry until about 30 years later. Adding that measure of time to the last years of the decade of the 1960's or the opening 1970's, it takes us to around the turn of the century. (It should also be noted that 1967 saw the capture of the Old City of Jerusalem and its reunification under Israel's control.)
That is also why in the month of June, 1965, the Voice of God spoke to me, saying, "Call My people together." After a brief pause, the Voice intoned, "Call My people together." That is why these messages are being shared with you now, in order to set an abundance of proof before you, showing that our sands of time are almost spilled when we as individuals, and the world as nations, must stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ. Are you as an individual prepared right now to face the all-seeing eye of Christ and receive your portion accordingly? I sincerely hope you are. But if not, you haven't too much time to lose.
This time I want to concentrate on one of David's sons, by the name of Absalom. This name means `father of peace.' Try to remember that, because we will soon come back to it again and again. His mother was a foreign princess by the name of Maacah, the daughter of Talmai, king of Gesher (II Sam. 3:3). Maacah means `oppression.'
With these thoughts in mind, let us take a closer look at Prince Absalom, who, according to the Bible account, was very handsome (II Sam. 14:25). He had also been given some lessons in shrewdness and diplomacy by his mother who naturally hoped that her son would sometime sit on the throne of his father. But this "Prince Handsome" had much ambition, and little patience, so he decided to take the matter into his own hands. We find that he would meet the people at the gate to the city, to create a good impression. After some years, he was so successful in this, that it is recorded that he had won the heart of the Israel people (II Sam. 15:1-6). When this he realized, he secured leave from his father, on a false pretense, and traveled through the land to assemble an army to march on Jerusalem, with the avowed purpose of killing his father and taking over the reins of kingship.
But in the battle which resulted, "Prince Handsome" got killed (II Sam. 18:15).
I have already shown you how King David was anointed king three times. The Mosaic Tabernacle also had three divisions. Jesus the Christ said that the good seed brings forth 30-fold, 60-fold and some a 100-fold (Matt. 13:23). Now after more than 19 centuries of the Christian era, our principal nations have endeavored to show forth fruit from the seed which Christ planted. Like unto King David, who was Israel's great warrior-king, so has Christendom seen an era of great and unceasing wars. From 1914 to 1918, we went through what is known as World War number One. Nothing like it had ever been recorded before in history. And what were its results? We then commenced to come under the staggering burden of war; that is, the cost of war, and of rebuilding the countries. That was the era of Maacah, which I told you means `oppression,' or even a `depression.' She gave birth to Absalom, which means `the father of peace.'
Now go back in thought to those years of 1918-19, and consider how Christendom brought forth "Absalom," who was born unto the present world in the form of the League of Nations, for the sole purpose of maintaining peace on earth. As David was the father of Absalom, so likewise did the spirit of Christendom beget the League of Nations. As Maacah brought forth Absalom, so did the burden of war or oppression bring forth the concept of the League of Nations. This was the 30-fold fulfillment. But as the child Absalom could do nothing, so neither could the League of Nations: it fizzled out.
Then came World War number Two from 1939 into 1945, which really put all participating nations under the great burden of war and its aftermath. As a result of this great oppression of the people through the god of war, Christendom brought forth its 60-fold instrument unto peace on earth. This was the United Nations Organization; "Absalom" had grown up and commenced his maneuvers in diplomacy. As Absalom sought every opportunity to make a personal and good impression upon the subjects of his father, so similarly has the United Nations Organization spent "bales" of money to propagandize its mission and great work for world peace. But what have they really accomplished to maintain the peace? We can point to quite a number of things which they have done, but have such actions truly promoted peace? We can point to the struggle between North and South Korea in which the United Nations became involved, but not until after President H.S. Truman had taken swift and independent action as the head of the world's greatest nation. I say, after America acted, the United Nations commenced to bandy words and try to carry off a portion of the glory. (And consider the situation that presently exists in that region.)
Then we saw how Communist forces entered Laos, and swept and raged through Tibet. Did the United Nations do anything about it except to talk? Not that history has recorded! Did they do anything about the Algerian fighting, or any of the other hot spots, except to talk? Then came Egypt's seizure of the Suez Canal in 1956. Did the United Nations do anything about that, except to bandy words? Almost immediately, Israel, French, and British forces drove towards the Suez. Did the U.N. do anything about that, except to talk? The fact remains that they were helpless to do the slightest. It was the threats from Russia and the personal influence of Dwight D. Eisenhower which brought that crisis to a halt. Whether we say that was good or bad, the United Nations did not figure in it. Later on, when the Suez Canal was again opened, Colonel Nasser claimed that it was an international waterway. But the indisputable fact remains that he continued to stop, through the canal, shipping which was destined for Israel. What did the U.N. do about that, except to talk? (And what of the present time? We need but consider the debate and words bandied regarding the Iraq crisis to see that nothing has changed.) WHAT is the future destiny of the United Nations? WHAT is its mission?
Back in 1950 I showed how God had portrayed in the great Pyramid of Gizah precisely the time of the U.N.'s becoming, and its destiny.
That you may better understand this last and great effort by man to establish permanent peace on earth, send in for my book on the United Nations, which sets forth its precise mission on earth, as shown both by Bible prophecies, as well as by measurements in solid stone – which can be seen in the Great Pyramid. This great Pyramid is not merely the world's greatest wonder in construction, but is God's Bible in stone.
PEACE – without Christ – is impossible.
