"And they came to Jericho: and as He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; He calleth thee. And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto Him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way." Mark 10:46-52

GREETINGS, friends! My prayer for you is that this day your eyes may get opened to see what never before you have seen. May I remind you again of the Scripture which says that "the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy" (Rev. 19:10)? And to that let me add what I have told you before: that every parable and strange saying by the Lord Jesus, as well as every miracle He wrought, distill into pure prophecy. In the days of His flesh, Jesus said, "While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world, but night cometh when no one can work" (Jn. 9:4-5). When the Man Jesus died upon the Cross, the spiritual "sun" for the world had set. Figuratively speaking, the time was then DUSK. And by the time that the Apostles fell asleep, pitch blackness had set in, and has lasted into this very day. That is why our priesthoods have been so blind, unable to see anything under darkness of night; they have "limited the Holy One of Israel" (Ps. 78:41). Aside from admitting that Jesus performed many miracles through the power of God, they have treated the sayings and works of our Lord as if He were but an ordinary man. They have failed to see that behind the miracles, and hidden in the language of parables, were set forth the mighty truths of God and His plan for man, as well as detailed prophecy which runs into our very day, and also eons into the future!

Today I speak about another "twoedged sword" of His, that you may better understand what I mean, as well as the days in which we live and that which tomorrow shall reveal. IF you have your Bible convenient, you may turn to Matthew 20, from which I will shortly read about the miracle our Lord performed when He opened the eyes of two blind men as He was leaving Jericho.

Now, from Matthew 20, I wish to read verses 29 and 30:

"And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed Him. And behold, two blind men sitting by the wayside, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out saying, Have mercy on us, Thou Son of David."

While from Mark 10, we learn that the name of one was Bartimaeus. And I scarcely need tell anyone that when the blind men succeeded in penetrating the throng and coming up to the person of our Lord, He asked of them what they desired of Him. When He was told that they wished to get their eyes opened, He had compassion on them and spoke the word, when immediately they received their sight and "followed Him in the way."

How horribly black has been this night of spiritual darkness in which no one could find his way to labor effectively for the Master. But "Shout, you prisoners of hope!" – for now the glorious rays of the returning Daystar are streaming over our spiritual horizon. I am therefore declaring to you that within not too many years we shall witness that which mortals have scarcely dared to hope might ever come to pass. Again we shall see the mighty works of power, as wrought by the Lord Himself, take place under circumstances which no one can deny. But in the darkness of this stygian night, priests, ministers and students of the Word of God, have only had "Oh's" and "Ah's" to exclaim over this particular miracle wrought by the Nazarene – even as about His other miracles. Yet I am here to tell you that every miracle wrought by our Lord had a double meaning – in fact, a triple meaning, which conforms to our three-dimensional world; and, in fact, a fourth application, which answers to the plane of spirit, extending into the heavenworld. Because the Lord has revealed to me the principles of the KEYS to the Kingdom of God, it is my great joy to set these treasures before you, that today you may see what bygone princes of this world hoped and prayed for in vain.

Look through my eyes that you may see the power and glory and majesty as manifest by the Son of God. WHO were those two blind men? We are told that one was named Bartimaeus, but why aren't we told the name of the other? WHY were they on the outskirts of Jericho? What does the name mean? And WHY were the men blind, instead of paralytic?

It is doubtful that one out of ten thousand can answer these questions. In fact, one might wonder if anyone on the continent can! I repeat: the "NIGHT" has been long and dark; people have muttered in their sleep. The attitude has been, "Well, what difference does it make what the man's name may have been, or that of the other? Or what is the difference if it was Jericho, Bethsaida or Nazareth?" My dearly beloved, can you not see with me that every little detail of every event in the life of the Son of God, while He was on earth, had been PREarranged by God Almighty as to names, locations and details involved?

WHO was Bartimaeus? The prefix bar means 'son,' while timaeus is a shortened Greek form for our "Timothy," which means 'worshipper of God.' Thus, Bartimaeus becomes 'a son of a true worshipper of God.'

Jericho means 'the MOONcity.' That we must understand by contrasting the moon to the sun. The sun is a symbol of the light and love and glory of God, while the moonlight is a refraction of the sunlight, and thus symbolizes the "interpretation" which Lucifer has given to the Word of God. Since this world is in the power of Lucifer, then the mooncity becomes representative of the entire present civilization. But more particularly, since Jericho was a city in Palestine, its application narrows down to the "Chosen People" at that time, who were the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Was not Abraham "a worshipper of God"? And so were Isaac and Jacob. Here then, through living drama, God was showing us how the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob had become spiritually blind by living in the MOON-city of Jericho; neither will they come to spiritual vision until the last days of the era, when meeting up with the Lord of Life as He returns to Jerusalem.

When this is considered, we see why we were not given the name of the other person, for the name "Bartimaeus" tells the story. God was dealing with the national blindness of Israel, even that great blindness which prevented their accepting the Messiah when He strode in their midst – that spiritual Colossus they would not enthrone! Truly a great people they have been and are, but their spiritual blindness has netted them great disasters, and more are still ahead. But "in the day of His POWER, they will be willing" (Ps. 110:3).

Jesus of Nazareth was the Christ of God. Every recorded miracle that He performed PROVES it – they check out like a crossword puzzle, revealing an absolute agreement, while His every parable dovetails into the same pattern.

Now, about that prophecy: is it possible that in the simple account of the eyes of 2 blind men being healed, that there could be detailed prophecy? Yes, indeed! Look with me. Bear in mind that the works of God are founded in mathematics, while the past history and future destiny of man are correlated thereto.

All of you know the length of the solar year, but not so many know the length of the lunar. The precise length of the moonyear is about 354 1/3 days (as an average). But it varies with the year, and also when measured from different seasons; many being more, while some even less than 354 days. Now, let us consider the number 354 as represented by blind Bartimaeus, who sat on Jericho's outskirts (that being the MOONcity). Let's make this an equation by placing underneath the same number again for his blind friend. Now add the two and you get 708.

You may recall me stating that the works of God are wrought out in steps by 10. That is, we must multiply by 10 to raise a number from the person to the nation; also the same to change from the body to the mind or soul, and again by 10 to speak for spirit. Thus, we multiply 708 by 10 to raise it to the nation, and by 10 twice more to raise it from the physical to spiritual discernment. Therefore you will get three ciphers following the numerals, or, 708,000. Prophetically that becomes that many days for Jewry to remain spiritually blind to the fact that Jesus of Nazareth was their Messiah sent by God.

Figure it out: you will find that many days cover a period of 1,938½ years. But if using the small extra fraction, would add up to 2 years more.

"While I am in the world I am the Light of the world" (Jn. 9:5). Those were the words of the Lord of Life. That means His people had previously been living in spiritual darkness, but that LIGHT dawned as He commenced His ministry. So to finish this prophetic equation, we add the 1,938 to 1,940 years to the time that Jesus commenced His ministry. Regardless of whose chronology we use, you will find that it computes to the opening years of the decade of the 1970s. It is interesting to note that the Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) War was waged in October, 1973. This should have reminded and alerted both the physical and spiritual House of Israel of the Atonement made by God which was necessary for all mankind and without which the whole world would be doomed. Since that Yom Kippur War, the troubles in the Middle East have intensified, which are now engulfing the whole world, and shedding much blood of carnal man. That is a reverse of God's great Atonement which has been offered.

HEAR my word: the Son of God came to earth, not to endure the tortures of hell for any one people exclusively, but rather for ALL people – and that includes you and me.

The miracles He wrought were not intended exclusively for one chosen people, but are also applicable unto all of humankind.

I have just shown you how He opened the eyes of "a son of a true worshipper of God," and how that blind Bartimaeus and his friend "followed Him in the way." THAT is intended for you and me. Can you not see how all of modern Christendom was "born blind" even as Bartimaeus – unable to see the faintest ray of spiritual light? THAT is why God has asked me to call His people together – that your spiritually blind eyes may get opened to behold what mortals never dared to dream could be true.

You have believed in sickness, sorrow, grief and old age, eventually to be swallowed up in death. Aside from that your fingers have been crossed, hoping, praying that, perchance, through the grace of God, you might get lollypops for your SOUL after you are dead. HOW HORRID has been and still is the stygian darkness of this spiritual "night!" But praise God! NOW the first bright rays of the returning Daystar are shooting high over the spiritual horizon. Arouse! Shout and sing! For JOY is on the wing.

Is it YOU, my friend, who are BLIND Bartimaeus on the outskirts of this world's MOONcity – where Lucifer's university has been in full command? But hark! 'tis the footstep of the Son of God you hear approaching; HE has the power to open your eyes, in order that you may "follow Him in the way."

Can you not see and understand? YOU are to "follow Him in the way!" Did you ever hear or read of any one who "followed Him in the way" who was hobbling along on crutches? Or who was blind and had to be led by another? Or who was paralyzed and had to be carried on a litter, or who was bereaved and couldn't endure the burdens of life? Or whose every labor was a failure? NO! My friend, there just weren't any! Even at the night's end, after a strenuous struggle with the nets and oars and not one fish caught, they needed but to HEAR the words of the Lord of Life, and immediately their nets were filled to overflowing!

For YOU there is health and strength; for YOU there is peace and joy; yes, for YOU there is success and happiness, just so soon as you will persistently cry out to Him, "THOU Son of David, have mercy on me – that my eyes may be opened!"

HEAR my words: the mercies of God through Jesus Christ are for your HERE and for your NOW. Not the faintest need is there for you to sit on the outskirts of Jericho, blind like a bat, waiting for lollypops for your SOUL – after you are dead!
