"This is My commandment, that ye love one another as I have loved you." John 15:21

From there He went on to say that no person had a greater love than to lay down one's life for his friends. We know that on the very following day, that is precisely what our Lord did: not only did He lay down His life for His friends, but He also laid it down for His enemies. WE are not talking about "mush," or some phase of passion which today may pass under the banner of love. But we are speaking of that something which is so difficult to understand, so difficult to explain, because it originates in God Himself.

It is that "love" for another which seeks nothing for self, but sacrifices self in order to accomplish some good for another. That is the love of which Christ spoke; and that was the "love" which on the very following day He demonstrated to all the world, that He sought nothing for self, but was fully prepared to go through very hell in order to accomplish good for others: not merely for His friends, but even for those who hated Him. That is the incomprehensible LOVE of God, of which you and I can also partake in ever increasing measure, as we strive to walk closer with our Lord and Savior. ...FAITH IS FOUNDED IN LOVE. ...It is your lack of faith in and towards God, which accounts for whatever degree of disappointment and unhappiness which may exist in your life. When you have faith in God, then is your life a triumphant success, and it overflows with great joy from morning to night for the simple reason that you know God as your loving and Almighty Father. Therefore, if you love Him, then you keep His commandments as our Lord did say to His disciples; and, keeping His commandments, you know that you continue in His love. Therefore have you faith towards God, and your life is like a melody which bursts forth in rapturous ecstasy, as you walk the sunlit peaks of glory with Christ your Lord.
