II Corinthians 4:5-7

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."

If...a right father sees his son not believing in the parent, preferring the gang across the tracks, is not that father likely to conclude, "Since you are thus bent on folly, you will have to learn the hard way"? THAT is precisely what God repeatedly concluded about ancient Israel; THAT is again what He concludes for us (as and when we are so willfully brattish that we seek out every Tom, Dick, and Harry for their words in ignorance or their "left little finger help," instead of coming to the glorious Father and the source of infinite wisdom and Power). HOW LONG must you be bound to the whipping post? How close to exhaustion and even death must you be until you behold the outstretched arms toward you – even His Hands in power which energize and direct the universal suns – until you come to your senses in recognition of your abysmal folly and stupidity?
"O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you?" Matthew 17:17
"How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against Me?" Numbers 14:27
How oft and long must His words burn before you until you realize that He means it (Matt. 11:28)? He wasn't talking about sweet dreams in some unknown world to come, but for YOU and me HERE and NOW!...
...We must come into the right relationship (father-son, mother-daughter unbroken bond in LOVE and trust unwavering) in order that the Father's grace and love may flow unfettered. It is not reserved for some once-in-a-lifetime moment of great deliverance, but for today from morning to night...
...He Who is the "Head" has no need of importing brains or great learning into the Heavenlies. Those He calls out and UP are to be but the "body," servants, messengers, and ambassadors: none but the faithful will be there: they do what they are told!
