II Corinthians 4:5-7
"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."

"Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me." Psalm 51:10
Yes, it is His Spirit-fire which cleanses the human heart.
But kid not yourself that His purging fire ever comes upon those who "live according to the flesh" (backbiting, envious, spiteful, blasphemous, deceiving, grabbing in greed, fornicating and looking for more [reveling in lusts of the flesh]).
It is WE who must DO WHAT WE CAN towards becoming an "overcomer." When THAT we have faithfully striven to achieve, I have confidence that He will make up for what seems beyond us to accomplish (that is, the Spirit Baptism – which cleanses the human heart.)
..."Many are the called, but FEW are the chosen" (to be in His Presence) (Matt. 22:14).
May you ever have sufficient understanding and sense of righteousness to never say, "No `good' person ever goes to heaven, but only SINNERS – saved by grace"!
Are you a parent with 2 sons, or maybe 2 daughters? Okay, so you observe that one of them diligently strives to HEAR your word and counsel, ever doing that which he/she believes pleases you. That one you think of as "good." But the other is ever disobedient, doing you both harm and shame. But because of being yours (your own flesh, blood, and bones) you overlook and forgive. Would you then bequeath to the rioting one the greatest and best portion of your estate? – spitting in the face of the "good" one?
Is it not written that the Elohim created us in Their Own likeness and image (Gen. 1:26)? By which incontrovertible statement we understand God, so soon as we fully "know" a normal and upright and sound parent....
Did our Lord say that He came to ignore the righteous but glorify sinners??
But NO! HE said He came to – call sinners TO REPENTANCE (that they TOO might become righteous ["good"]).
