II Corinthians 4:5-7
"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."

"Greater love hath no man that this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are My friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you." John 15:13-14
The Lord Himself demonstrated the extremity of that love, by sacrificing Himself in totality; not only for friends, but for His enemies also!!
Today, do we "command" our friend? Not if we are civilized! The original word means but `an injunction,' `a suggestion,' or `a fervently expressed wish.' Wherefore, when His wishes have become a part of our daily life, THEN are we "His friends." For His friends, He will do almost whatever they may ask!
