II Corinthians 4:5-7
"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."

"Father, I will that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am; that they MAY BEHOLD MY `GLORY' – which Thou hast given Me: for thou lovedst Me before the downcasting of the world." John 17:24
There [at the Cross] – a badly beaten, blood spattered, disheveled human being tortured into agony beyond human endurance, bleeding towards death, suffered without a whimper. WHEREIN or what was the "glory" they might behold?!?
"The cup which My Father hath given Me, shall I not drink it?" John 18:11
HE knew the Father's will. To Him the Father's will to execute was far more than life itself! Why?
The father is the highest and absolute authority unto the young offspring. Knowing that is important unto all children; truly believing that is more important; while living that conviction is of supreme importance! ...The right parent only lays down laws and gives orders which are calculated to be unto the greatest good for the young.
That "glory" which they beheld from the moment in Gethsemane (the oil press) into His very last cry upon the cursed cross – even the Victor's cry – "IT IS FINISHED!" (Jn. 19:30). "FATHER, INTO THY HANDS I COMMEND MY SPIRIT" (Lk. 23:46).
HE yielded up His last breath; His head drooped .
THAT was the "glory" they had continued to behold – maybe 15 hours or more! It was the willingness to "TAKE" and to endure intense suffering THE FATHER'S WILL (knowing that whatever the Father's Will might be, that was the greatest GOOD unto Himself and all concerned) which would eventuate!
" and I am glorified in them"! John 17:10
