"...They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." Mark 2:17

It could grant much sweet satisfaction to look back over a life – almost perfect. But 'twas for "sinners" our Lord went to Calvary.

IF you have erred, or even "sinned," don't enter into the greater sin of turning your back to God in the delusion that "I have sinned: He will not hear me now." A portion of truth is in that delusion, but only a small "portion." And most of that portion consists in the defilement of your own conscience: your faith towards God has floundered. But our "Lord changes not" (Mal. 3:6). In every way He is just as ready to HEAR, "to answer you and show you great and mighty things" which love and power you had not apprehended. It is the Father's unchanging love for the child that is young, that is weak and errant.

IF you think of yourself as at the end of the line, then remember the story of the boy – last in the queue. He scribbled a note and sent to the "boss" with the office clerk: "Don't give the job to anyone until you have seen me: I am the last kid in line." He got the job.

So will you – get your prayers heard and mightily answered IF your chin is up and your heart contrite. It is the effacement of self and magnification of Christ which rings a bell in heaven. The earthly father looks not with favor to the big mouthed, blundering son who knows it all; but does to the contrite who looks to daddy for understanding and for help.

"Let Us make man in our image and after Our Own likeness." THAT He did! So look to God the Father.
