II Corinthians 4:5-7
"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."

"Lead me in Thy truth, and teach me: for Thou art the God of my salvation; on Thee do I wait all the day." Psalm 25:5
Never listen to the counsel of your friends, especially of such who haven't been born into the Kingdom of God. Taking advice from those who are in and of this world, constitutes a spiritual defilement which will bring you grief. Bear in mind that the right child first listens to the parent's word instead of playmates or strangers.
This is the great problem that you face: to break away from your former habits of thought and conduct, switching over to the perpetual awareness of Christ in your everyday life, Who is your Mighty Shield and Guiding Wisdom. It is He Who will lead you into the new paths of success and happiness, but he must be given the chance (He will not interfere with your free will). He has the power and will protect in an absolute totality; but again, He must be given the chance (so long as you are looking to man and the ways of man, that long are you shutting Him out).
Incessantly practice the presence of God.
Daily school yourself into the realization that you have lived in the kingdom of Lucifer, and been schooled in the Devil's university: thus have you assimilated the ideas which lead to trouble and end into Hell.
There must be a total face about.
