Meditation
"...for now I know that thou fearest God...." Genesis 22:12
It was in the heart of faithful Abraham to offer up unto God his beloved and one-begotten son. Securely he had been bound to the altar; the gleaming knife arched and momentarily paused `ere it should plunge into the living human flesh! I doubt that the stark pathos of that moment has ever been graphed in man's language. But before the muscles could flex and plunge the knife, the Holy Spirit called unto Abraham from out of heaven; HOLD that sacrificial knife! For I know (now) how you tremble at the Word of the Living God – faithful and obedient to the uttermost!

Do YOU behold "His GLORY"? That ineffable GLORY which took Him through Darkness' hour without a murmur! Have you tasted – in measure – that LOVE for your friends which makes you ONE – in substance – with them? Have you sensed A CALVARY at times which you have joyously accepted FOR THE GOOD OF OTHERS? Has "His GLORY" throbbed in your being in a consuming passion to GIVE (self) that others might have Life, and have it more abundantly?
