II Corinthians 4:5-7

"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."

"If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask Him?" Matthew 7:11

Again the Lord illustrates...truth and His promises, by the family situation: a father and his son. If we who are carnal and still far from being perfect, know how to give the truly good things unto our youngsters, how much more so does not the Heavenly Father?

Do we believe our Lord? Do we believe in the love and wisdom of our Heavenly Father? If so, then we should realize that whenever we have prayed for something which we do not receive, or to which there is not an apparent answer, then we are expected to realize that in the sight and wisdom of God, that was not in our best interest. "Turning" a good business deal enabling the buying of a new car might, to the person asking, appear "in his best interest." But time almost without number have new cars landed the owner in the hospital, sometimes in the cemetery. Since we do not know tomorrow, let us leave our "best interests" in the hands of Him Who loves us, Who also knows the end from the beginning.
