II Corinthians 4:5-7
"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."

"...observe to do, all the words of this Law. ...because it is your life...." Deuteronomy 32:46-47
As I just showed (June 29th reading), the word (abide) actually implies "to live" in Him, yet He did not use that word "to live," for the simple reason that would not have included the great many implications which I have just mentioned to you. HE expects us to study the record of His life to see precisely what He was and what HE stood for. We must come to know and understand the man, Christ Jesus. When we know and understand Him, then we take everything which goes to make up that complete picture, and call that the house in which we live; that is what He meant by "abiding in Him."
Then He transposed the situations by saying, "and if My Words abide in you." It isn't enough to hear His words or to see them, nor yet to dream about them; it isn't enough that we put them in a bushel basket and hide them under the bed. As abiding in Him means to live our life in Him, so does it also imply the same by saying that His words must be fully alive in us, living in us, expressing through us, churning within us from morning `til evening, until our thoughts are the thoughts of Jesus, our words the words of the Lord, and our conduct the actions of the Christ. And that, my friends, means just what I said a moment ago: it takes us back to the first commandment: to love the Lord our God with all our heart, and with all our minds and with all our strength, with everything that we are. So, here the Lord went on to say that if, as, and when we accept Him as a new house in which to live, and to so open the door of our minds that we let His words come into us and live there, fully and freely, then it does not matter what we invent or desire for ourselves, we only have to ask it, and we shall receive it.
