II Corinthians 4:5-7
"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."

"For the Father seeketh such to worship Him." John 4:23
What does that mean? With so many people, "prayer" becomes a lot of "give me" words. But when you worship Him "in spirit and in truth," then your heart goes out in thankfulness and adoration. You are appreciative of the many blessings in your life. You are aware of His goodness to you-wards: you express your gratitude – poured forth from a sincere heart. THAT is worshiping the Father in Spirit and in Truth.
Some seem to believe and teach that there is a "magic" to "praising" God. Emphatically, there is NONE! Or do you suppose He has an inferiority complex, so that He needs His ego boosted? But the "magic" is in yourself. When you have come to know your true relationship to your Heavenly Father; when you have entered upon that "walk with Christ the Lord" which results in JOY WITHIN, then will you PRAISE HIM – "in spirit and in truth." It is that estate within you that the Father yearns to observe. WHEN the spirit of praise overflows your heart, then speak it forth. It is then that you "worship Him in spirit and in truth."
