II Corinthians 4:5-7

"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."

"...even as I also overcame...." Revelation 3:21

You have all heard or read about the Lord's temptations by the devil during His fast, and particularly, immediately thereafter. But was that the end thereof? "Ye are they which have continued with Me in My temptations" (Lk. 22:28).

Those words imply that the Lord's temptations were continuous, or almost continuous. He also said that

"Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house forever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." John 8:34-36

Free from what? Free from sin! Otherwise you are a "servant to sin." Either we overcome our temptations, or we are overcome by them!
