II Corinthians 4:5-7
"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."
November 26th
"And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly." Exodus 19:18
Indeed, there is beauty and enchantment in the narration of this age-old drama; yet I am convinced that God expects more of us than that we should sit agape afresh at what we have heard parroted time and again by those asleep in the "night." Wherefore, let us – each and all – deeply ponder the awesome majesty of that "nativity" portrayed in His "coming DOWN" upon the mountain (symbolizing the KINGDOM) which set that "mountain" afire. And whosoever or whatsoever touched that mountain should be stoned or shot through!
As at that time there was no "Kingdom of God" (on earth): He had but called forth a people unto that end (that the kingdom might be established). Wherefore, at that time HE HIMSELF was all there was of the "kingdom." (As He walked among them performing feats of power, HE said: "the kingdom of Heaven has come near unto you!" – Lk. 10:9,11) HE had a kingdom people – which were without their kingdom: it was ruled over by others.... "SET BOUNDS" said He – lest the people break through and touch the mountain. Such were to be killed!... Can people touch God (flesh touch a Spirit)? THESE are the interlocking items of evidence prophetically portraying that GOD HIMSELF would COME DOWN to the people of His choice; clothed in HUMAN FLESH (touchable); which body of flesh would DIE AS A SACRIFICE FOR THIS PEOPLE.
