II Corinthians 4:5-7
"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."
November 27th
"...walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour." Ephesians 5:2
A "sacrifice" is not that which dies of itself but that which is killed (for that purpose). (The sacrifice by God has been shown us by the coffin within the Holy of Holies, bearing the ALTAR'S sacrificial number within itself!) Manifestly, GOD in human flesh would not suicide! So, "HE was brought as a lamb to the slaughter" (Isa. 53:7) by a DISOBEDIENT people – "breaking through unto the Holy `mountain'": thereby incurring THE PENALTY OF DEATH! (See Ex. 19:13, etc.) ("Touch not Mine anointed and do My Prophets no harm" – Ps. 105:15.) While unto "Christendom" He has been a consuming fire ever since! And in less than 40 years from the time that His people "broke through unto the mountain" they were all DEAD – as a nation!
HUMBLE though the scene of the "nativity" was – as seen through blinded human eyes, the selfsame drama as prophetically wrought by Spirit was awesome and terrific.
