II Corinthians 4:5-7
"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."

"As the Father has loved Me, so have I also loved you. Continue ye in My love. IF ye keep My commandments, ye shall abide in My love, even as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love!" John 15:9-10
True prayer BURSTS FROM OUT THE SOUL. It is the vehement FIRE OF SPIRIT – lent wings by the passion of SOUL. THAT is what rings the bell in heaven! THIS is what God delights to answer. Howbeit, it must be in basic conformity with God's Wisdom-Will unto our greatest good, neither betraying the good of others. Wherefore, when you have arrived at that spirit-age when IN SPIRIT and IN TRUTH you can "worship," and in substance you can pray according to the "pattern" shown you..., THEN are you on the threshold of the gate to the "Kingdom" gardens.
However, remember that wherever there is a true, filial spirit between child and parent, "communion" is frequent (almost incessant). "As in heaven, so on earth." And vise versa. Which means that the rare worship, and occasional "prayer," shows your being distant from your Father. IF "distant" from Him, what can you rightfully expect?
The truly precocious lad smartens up at an early age to realize that his greatest interests are best served by remaining in the center of Daddy's will and wishes.
By which words the Christ told us (Jn. 15:9-10) two important Truths: 1) that it was essential to "continue in His love," and 2) that to therein remain we must "keep His commandments."
There is no other way!
