"...and they awake Him, and say unto Him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?" Mark 4:38

What of YOU as an individual Christian? Is your heart so carnal that you have forgotten about the Lord of Life – leaving Him asleep in the wake of things? Are YOU so preoccupied with the struggles of this life and your own emotional turmoil, that you have provided Him a headrest – keeping your fingers crossed that He will be oblivious to your folly? And YOU who want to "live a Christian life," shouldn't you at least accord Him the honor of "back-seat driving" instead of PUTTING HIM TO SLEEP (while you snarl up the traffic)? Why, why, ten thousand times WHY must HE be relegated to the stern in all your affairs of life AND THERE PUT TO SLEEP? But THUS is the individual Christian – with few exceptions! Not until your own folly in the midst of life's raging storms takes you to the brink of destruction, do you think of ROUSING the Lord. And then He has been asleep so long He needs a lot of shaking and shouting to bring to!

CAN YOU NOT SEE that if they had had Him in their midst at the helm, the ship would never have filled with water? `Twas their forgetting and ignoring of the Lord, and their foolish reliance on brawn which took them to the brink of destruction!

And THUS with you! You must learn the imperativeness of greater POWER than your own; you should learn at least common courtesy towards A GUEST OF HONOR! Unprepared you run into the teeth of the day and slam-bang through life: through sheer folly setting up a train of dire consequences which may call for many years of grief to see you through.
