II Corinthians 4:5-7
"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."

"...He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities...." Isaiah 53:5
How often do you dwell on the somber fact that to rescue you from the clutches of the devil and to ransom you from the sentence of death, the Lord, the Creator, even your Spirit-Father, divested Himself of all the Heavenly glory? Have you never beheld Him in vision and realized that it was for you He took that cruel flogging which would have killed most persons? That merciless flogging took almost the last ounce of His strength. Yet under the weight of the Cross He struggled, and often fell. But to complete your redemption was like unto a mania with Him: you had to be set free!
Have you never felt a sharp and bedeviling pain when those large, course nails were driven through His wrists – for you? And the excruciation of that long one, straight out of Hell driven through both of His feet – for you? And have you ever been so callous that you could never feel the deep cutting hurt of the numerous taunts that were flung at Him – for you? Yes, you must identify yourself with the Christ on the Cross Who died for you.
