II Corinthians 4:5-7
"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."
August 15th
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28
"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another." John 13:34
Christ issued no special "commandment" aside from the implementation of LOVE for one another, and for one's fellow man. Wherefore, as we clear out of Ur (where all lights are powered by SELFISHNESS), coming into Canaan where, in spiritual humility, we practice FAITH IN GOD, and deeds of love toward one another, * THEN * ARE * WE * LOVING * GOD. *
And in that estate before Him, SHALL ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR OUR OWN GOOD! But kid not yourself that all things will APPEAR good! The average person in his semi-estrangement from God is so intently set on his own ideas, that every little thing which crosses his path makes him fume and fret, impatient with every obstacle and hindrance. Therein, often (oh so often!), does he fail to discern the Will of God, and utterly ignores the TRUTH of our basic text for this Lesson!
Ordinarily, everyone figures that all obstacles and hindrances are but PROBLEMS TO BE OVERCOME.... Sometimes – YES.... But often,
* IT IS GOD'S WAY OF SPEAKING * TO THE PERSON * TO WARN HIM OF ERROR! *
Never let us forget that GOD IS * AT THE HELM * – WITH ALL OF THE MINUTEST * DETAIL * UNDER FULL CONTROL!*
