II Corinthians 4:5-7
"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."
August 7th
"I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would (prefer) thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art LUKEWARM...I will spue thee out of My mouth!!" Revelation 3:15-16
Did you ever stop to realize that Christ Jesus did speak of those who sell out to the devil, and that with seemingly greater approval than of those who are "nominal Christians"?!? Stop, look, THINK and HEAR!
Those whom the Lord referred to as being "cold" are the ones who have sold out to the devil. They are in the world, of the world, and live according to the human concept of life – be that as an atheist, agnostic, or even a habitual criminal! While those who are HOT are the ones who are GLORIFYING Jesus Christ within themselves – having been FIRED by the Holy Spirit. But the "lukewarm"? Most of them may manage to stay out of jail; they attend church more or less regularly, "to worship the Lord in song, and with their tithes and offerings"! They might also be prominent in their social circle; they might even have given money – as their chip-in – to help feed the starving in Africa or elsewhere. But the Glorified ONE laments over them! Clearly did He say that "HE would they were either COLD or HOT." (It is I – M.D. – who has injected that "prefer" word, because it is fully justified and helps to set forth His meaning in bold relief.) Then He goes on to say – lamenting within – that because of their being LUKEWARM, He is determined to SPUE them out of His mouth (into the Great Tribulation)!
