"...lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea." Exodus 14:16

Don't be dismayed because there appears to be some momentary difficulty: rejoice that the difficulty has come! It is God's way of testing you. It is God's way of giving you an opportunity to put your trust in Him, and your hand in His, saying, "Lord, lead Thou the way." Don't you know what He said to Moses when the Egyptian army pursued behind, and the Red Sea roared ahead? God commanded, "go forward!" (Ex. 14:15). There was to be no turning around, nor trembling in fear: though the angry waves roared and the bellows foamed, so what? God was fully capable of handling the situation. Thus, similarly, must you realize that though hell itself may be at your heels, and the angry sea of turmoil rages ahead, remember: there can be no turning, there can be no questioning, there must be no doubting, but with your hand in that of Christ our Lord, you go forward, nothing doubting.

God is able and will deliver when the heart of His children are right towards Him. That has been our stumbling block, that we have "interpreted" His promises to mean something for a spiritual world, and a future tomorrow, instead of for our here and now. The substance of Christ's Spirit and Power is still with us and well able to sustain; it will keep and it will break every barrier; it will overcome every obstacle and solve every problem: only believe and forward go.

Christ is here and now! His promises are sure! Let not the all embracing sweep of His Covenant for you cause you to stagger in unbelief, and become tripped up by His assurances, thinking that it is up to you to go down into Egypt to do the best you can. That is where your lasting griefs and troubles begin....
