"And the people, when they knew it, followed Him: and He received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.
And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto Him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place. But He said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people. For they were about five thousand men. And He said to His disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company. And they did so, and made them all sit down. Luke 9:11-15

The Christ brought back to life a widow's dead son at Nain. The name means `beauty'! Although we have not been given any details, this much is certain: HE SAW her dead son and the funeral preparations many hours previous to His commencing the long trek. And we may also assume that it was somewhere in the vicinity of the Sea of Galilee when starting out with His disciples. The distance ranges from 10 to 30 miles. Even at ten that would mean three hours or more of brisk walking. Surely, we must perceive the many hours of painful walking on those primitive roads, abounding in various sized stones! Why? Just to restore to the mother's side her one and only help – and that without pay! And just as likely, without anything to eat until back in well-settled territory! THAT was "BEAUTY" in action!

WHY did that small village bear the name of BEAUTY? When you have primitive footwear, and obliged to walk many miles on such roads, a mission of mercy to perform without pay, that necessitates a considerable measure of Beauty, deep within! Therefore had God – maybe centuries previously – moved upon the people to so name the place that ITS NAME WOULD TALK – even to us in our day – exemplifying THE LIFE BEAUTIFUL! May that "talk" to you right now!
