II Corinthians 4:5-7

"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."

"...Glorify YOUR Son that YOUR Son may also glorify YOU!" John 17:1

Ordinarily we think of a glorification as an exaltation: that is also the meaning of the Greek dosason. Yet we know that in less than ten minutes later He requested of the Father that His disciples should be present to "behold His Glory."

However, THAT which they witnessed was but a total submission to the forces of evil. No resistance: seemingly, helplessness! Wherein the GLORY? THAT can only be understood as the ABSOLUTENESS of faith in the Father: KNOWING without the faintest shadow of doubt that THE FATHER HAD ALL POWER IN HIS HAND: AND BEING FULLY SUBMITTED TO HIM, BECAME AN ASSURANCE THAT THE GREATEST GOOD UNTO ALL WOULD RESULT FROM THAT SUBMISSION TO HIS WILL!! Naturally, IF the Son were to thus be Glorified, then would the results thereof also become an EXALTATION of the Father.
