II Corinthians 4:5-7
"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."

"Father, the hour is come; glorify Thy Son, that Thy Son also may glorify Thee
.
I HAVE GLORIFIED THEE ON THE EARTH: I have finished the work which Thou gavest Me to do." John 17:1,4
The entirety of His daily life from the Temple appearance at 12 until that night of the Passover supper, by His every word and deed: that is, an unspotted life free from all taint of sin, nor trace of commonness, but the full incandescent glory of the Father shining forth – that "glorified" the Father!
THIS is my theme – THIS is that of which I write: THIS GLORIFICATION OF JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD AND SAVIOR, IN AND THROUGH THE WORDS WE SPEAK, THE WORDS WHICH PROCEED FROM OUR THOUGHT-EMOTIONS, OUR VERY MOTIVATION AND CONDUCT FROM DAY TO DAY.
IS YOUR VERY LIFE GLORIFYING YOUR FATHER AND SAVIOR?
" To them gave He power TO BECOME THE SONS OF GOD ." John 1:12
You cannot escape that conclusion that in the same manner as THE SON of God "GLORIFIED the Father," so similarly are also the "sons of God" to "GLORIFY their Father" and Savior. For, to THAT end has "power" been bestowed on those who have "RECEIVED Him."
You may get up in church to "testify"; you may sing hymns and you may "PRAISE the Name of Jesus" and in many words declare your "love for your Savior," yet UNLESS THE VERY LIFE YOU LIVE SHEDS FORTH THE FATHER-GLORY, you do not "glorify" your Savior!
