II Corinthians 4:5-7
"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."

"And God said, Let us make man in Our image, after Our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." Genesis 1:26
Could it be that you are among those deluded Christians who believe that so long as you pay your bills, manage to stay out of jail, do not fight too seriously with your neighbor, and succeed in staving off a divorce, that that is all the Lord expects of you?!
I'm sure you are aware equally as well as I, what the Lord said about the person who looks upon an attractive woman and lusts after her. But to that I shall add more words: so long as that lust is not externalized, you have not sinned, and therefore will not stand in judgment over that matter. But there is more to it than that. From the very beginning God commanded man to go forth and gain dominion: that is, to achieve overcoming. God did not limit that to domesticating a few animals that they might serve us. We need only to carefully study Genesis 2 and 3 to realize that our Great God meant that man was to gain control, even an absolute dominion over his own thoughts and emotions! How can there be a flourishing kingdom of God for either the individual or society unless man gains that absolute dominion over his thoughts and emotions??
It was for the preservation and unto the perfection of the human body that the Son of God left the glory at the Father's side to become the Babe of the manger winding up His entire life as a living sacrifice that humanity might attain unto immortality and ultimate, absolute perfection! Did not God tell Abraham to separate himself from his people in Ur of the Chaldees; to get into another land wherein he might walk before God uprightly and be perfect?
